Umrah 2025: Saudi Arabia announces visa, travel, and exit dates
Nusuk platform central to external agent qualification and coordination process
DUBAI: Saudi Arabia has revealed the official Umrah season calendar for 1447 AH, setting critical dates for visa issuance, pilgrim entry, and departure.
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah released the schedule to streamline coordination between licensed foreign agents and domestic Umrah companies, ensuring smooth services for millions of international visitors.
Visa processing for the upcoming Umrah season will begin on 14 Dhul Hijjah 1446, corresponding to 10 June 2025. Pilgrims from outside the Kingdom may start arriving a day later, on 15 Dhul Hijjah 1446 (11 June 2025). All contractual arrangements between Umrah companies and overseas agents must be completed by 29 Dhul Qadah 1446 (27 May 2025).
Umrah 2025: Visa & entry deadlines
The final deadline to issue Umrah visas is set for 1 Shawwal 1447 (20 March 2026), with the last entry date into Saudi Arabia confirmed for 15 Shawwal 1447 (3 April 2026). All pilgrims are required to leave the Kingdom by 1 Dhul Qadah 1447, which corresponds to 18 April 2026.

Additionally, the deadline for accepting qualification applications from external agents and finalising their agreements with Umrah operators is 1 Sha’ban 1447 (20 January 2026). These processes are centralised via the “Nusuk” platform and the “Umrah Path” system, both launched earlier in the year to improve digital efficiency.
Record-breaking year
During the Second Umrah and Ziyarah Forum in Madinah this April, Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dr Tawfiq Al-Rabiah disclosed that over 6.5 million international pilgrims performed Umrah during the first quarter of 2025 – an 11% increase compared to the same period in 2024.
Umrah, a non-mandatory pilgrimage to Makkah and Madinah, can be performed throughout the year and is distinct from Haj, which is obligatory once in a lifetime for Muslims and takes place during a specific annual window.
